Top Motivational songs for the 2023 New Year

There are ten excellent songs to welcome the new year with a sense of hope and, as usual, with quality as the guiding principle. There aren't many songs about the start of the new year because some may already be sick of Christmas music. So, we've picked a few.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, of course!
JAMES BROWN: 'LET'S MAKE CHRISTMAS MEAN SOMETHING THIS YEAR
The "godfather of soul" created the brilliant and well-timed album "Funky Christmas" while the wave was at its peak. Giving Santa Claus a transplant of musical "soul" was how it felt. He only selected this one song to mark the beginning of the new year and all future joy. The first "rap" is fantastic.
ENYA: 'TRAINS AND WINTER RAINS'
Because it includes a portion of the Agnus Dei, a melody sung in Irish churches, this song by Enya sounds even more like Christmas. It is her final masterpiece and is dedicated to her new year. She is instrumental when the "winter rains" block the locomotion services.
OTIS REDDING & CARLA THOMAS: 'NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION'
This is unlike any other penned love song for peace in the new year. The piece appeared on the soul-dominating couple's album "King and Queen," written by the brilliant Mary Frierson, one of the top musicians at Memphis Stax. Additionally, it was produced by Isaac Hayes and Booker T.
ELLA FITZGERALD: 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING NEW YEAR'S EVE?'
Early in the 1960s, the magnificent Ella finally decided to record a collection of Frank De Vol's holiday arrangements. When she requested a song that discussed the new year, Frank Loesser, the talented composer of "Baby, it's cold outside," sprang to mind. It has since evolved into a tradition at New Year's Eve gatherings. Diana Krall's latest excellent rendition is the best.
NAT KING COLE: 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'
When Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole sold nearly half of the recordings sold in the US, they were the enchanted years of Capitol Records in Hollywood. The fantastic album "The Very Thought of you," which gave that great song its name, contained this tune. Gordon Jenkins, a music producer, had Cole perform this ideal New Year's theme even though the album wasn't a Christmas album. It was the album's last song.
STING: 'BRAND NEW DAY'
Sting responded that he had always intended to write a song for the start of the 21st century but that the song didn't intend to be a political statement when I asked him what this song meant while we were sitting in the living room of his Parisian apartment not far from the Arc de Triomphe. She succeeded in doing so with that seductive jazz tone. This is also the title of the last album produced with genuine quality.
VAN MORRISON: 'CELTIC NEW YEAR'
Morrison constantly considers the Celtic calendar, the most folkloric characteristics of the Celts, and his new year, which is uniquely observed in Ireland. This is a fantastic song from his stylistically diverse album "Magic Time." he has a tremendous voice and loves Van Morrison's vocals.
ABBA: 'HAPPY NEW YEAR'
Curiously, the song was initially intended to be called "Dad, don't drink so much on this day" and was on the album "Super Trouper." Strangely, there's a Spanish translation available. It is known as "Happiness." It is a standard hymn at all celebrations, especially gay ones, and it is sung in English and Spanish. There needs to be a more straightforward tune to welcome the new year.
U2: 'NEW YEAR'S DAY
One of the Irish group's songs that some love the most. Although, in theory, it was merely a love ballad to his wife Ali, due to his Catholicism and political views, he turned this song into an homage to the Solidarity movement in Poland. With time, the music has lost its political connotation and has evolved into the tune that kicks off the new year after the twelve bells have rung.
